The Champions for Families program at Angelina County & Cities Health District is dedicated to the health of families. Our mission is to assist all families in accessing resources that promote family and child development and encourage all families to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Contact our team at 936-633-1429 to learn more about how the Champions for Families team can help your family become healthier and more financially stable.

With the help of our team, parents will receive the most updated and recent information on family-wellbeing topics. This may include:

  • Nutritional information & guidance
  • Prenatal care
  • Local parenting support groups
  • Education & vocational opportunities
  • Financial assistance information
  • Familial relation support & education

Those who are eligible for these services, include:

  • Parents and guardians of children 36 months & younger
  • Pregnant woman, as well as the biological father
  • Pregnant minors, as well as the biological father
  • Parents of pregnant minors

Anndrea Pickett
Outreach Program Specialist

Anndrea Pickett has been in the medical field for over 30 years, and she's been serving in the heart of our community for the last eight years as the at ACCHD. She has an open mind and heart to learn and grow with ACCHD, all in an effort to better serve the Angelina County community. Anndrea is a wife, mother and grandmother and currently serves as President on the Board of Directors for the Pregnancy Help Center. She is also attending classes for a business management degree. Anndrea's reason for being in public health is her passion to serve others who are in need.

Family Navigator

Rebecca is a California native, but she's developed a genuine connection to Texas, its residents and its culture through her service to Deep East Texas families over the last 10 years. Rebecca graduated from Angelina Community College with an Associates of Applied Sciences in Human Services & Specialty Case Management in 2018. She has a passion for helping at-risk populations including, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, adolescents and families. Rebecca's experience has equipped her with the ability to assist local families in accessing the services necessary to ensure healthy and positive outcomes.

Family Resilience Coach

As a Family Resilience Coach, Vanessa plays a pivotal role in the ACFF Project team, contributing to our mission by providing essential mental health services to program participants and supporting their emotional well-being and overall family stability. She has served as a social worker for more than two years and has a strong background in trauma-informed counseling and resilience building. The role of Family Resilience Coach offers Vanessa a unique opportunity for program development, as she will be actively involved in the program’s success by connecting with families, providing essential services, and promoting well-being.
