Nutrition Education

Nutrition education is one of the primary benefits WIC offers families. Clients can take classes, and get one-on-one nutrition counseling with a Nutritionist or a Registered Dietitian so you can learn about healthy feeding practices. If a client or their child is diagnosed with a high risk condition effecting nutrition status such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia (hypertension), failure to thrive, or obesity, the client may receive a consult with a Registered Dietitian as part of their WIC benefit. WIC is a valued member of the medical community and makes referrals to other health care providers when needed.
