Protect you and your family with immunizations from ACCHD! Vaccines are administered Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The pneumonia vaccine can lower your chances getting pneumonia. People over age 65 and those with weakened immune systems should get the pneumonia vaccine. If you have heart disease, diabetes, emphysema or asthma, you may have a weakened immune system.
Getting a flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others from the flu. Flu viruses evolve quickly, so new vaccines are released every year to keep up with the rapid changes. The CDC recommends annual flu shots for everyone six months or older, especially pregnant women, older adults and young children. Some people may need two doses of the vaccine to be fully protected. See the CDC's weekly influenza activity estimate here.
The Children and Adult Immunization Program provides a variety of services all committed to improving the health and immunization rates of the children and adults of Angelina County. Regulatory responsibilities include the oversight of local physician TVFC provider vaccine ordering and storage practices, hospital Hepatitis B vaccination requirements, and school and daycare immunization record audits for compliance.
